How much does an online store cost?
With an online store, the construction price is rarely the amount that ultimately determines whether it works.
A custom webshop starts at approximately €4,500 for a clear range with payment and shipping. With stock linking, customer-specific prices or a large range, it amounts to €20,000 or more. You also have ongoing costs for hosting, payment transactions and maintenance.
PRICE RANGE
What you get in which class
Indicative and excluding VAT. We will only tell you what your situation costs after a conversation - then it is also a fixed price.
| SITUATION | INDICATION | WHAT YOU GET |
|---|---|---|
| Clear range | from €4,500 | Products, shopping cart, payment and shipping. Manual inventory management. |
| With couplings | €8,000: €20,000 | Stock and accounting linked, shipping parties, returns handling. |
| B2B webshop | from €20,000 | Customer-specific prices, login per customer, repeat orders, volume discounts. |
| Migration of existing shop | on request | Transfer products, customers and order history while maintaining positions. |
WHAT DETERMINES THE PRICE
What determines the price
Not the number of products but their complexity. A thousand simple products are cheaper than fifty products with sizes, colour variants and prices that differ per customer.
The second factor is what happens after the order. A shop that forwards orders to your accounting and shipping party is a linking project; without that, there remains manual work that grows with the volume.
- Product complexity — variants and dimensions weigh more heavily than quantity.
- Stock link — prevents selling what you don't have.
- Shipping Parties — labels and track-and-trace automatically.
- Payment methods — iDEAL is not optional in the Netherlands.
- Returns — the process most often forgotten.
- B2B pricing — customer-specific agreements make it a different project.
WHAT YOU SHOULD PAY ATTENTION TO
The ongoing costs
A webshop has more running costs than a website: hosting is heavier, there are transaction costs per payment, and there is ongoing work on products and texts.
Also count on shipping costs and returns, which affect your margin more than the construction price. A shop that is technically perfect but runs on the wrong margin is still a loss.
- Hosting — heavier than a website; from €19 per month.
- Transaction costs — per payment, directly with your payment provider.
- Product management — Keeping track of photos, texts and prices structurally takes time.
- Returns — include them in your margin, not as an incident.
- Maintenance — service contract from €49 per month.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
More about the costs of an online store
Isn't a standard platform cheaper?
To begin with, almost always, yes. A standard platform is the sensible choice for a simple range and limited volume. custom development becomes interesting for customer-specific prices, unusual logistics or when platform costs and commissions increase considerably with your volume.
Can my current webshop move?
Yes. Products, customer accounts and order history are kept with us, and we make redirects from old to new addresses so that your positions in Google are maintained. The latter is most often forgotten during migrations and is the most expensive to restore.
How long does it take to build?
A well-organized shop is usually live in four to six weeks. With links to inventory and accounting, you count on eight to twelve weeks, part of which is waiting for test access from the other parties.
Do you charge commission per order?
No. You pay for the construction and then hosting and maintenance. What you pay per transaction goes directly to your payment provider and there is no surcharge from us.
