What is Google Ads?

Immediately visible, pay immediately. And leave immediately as soon as you stop.

Google Ads is the advertising system that allows you to appear at the top of the search results and pay per click. You decide which search terms you want to appear on and what a click is worth to you. Traffic comes immediately and stops the day you stop the budget.

IN COMMON LANGUAGE

How it works

You bid on search terms. With every search, Google determines through an auction who appears, where not only your bid counts, but also how relevant your ad and your page are. A more relevant advertisement pays less per click.

This makes the landing page part of your advertising costs. A bad page makes every click more expensive and yields less: the effect stacks.

WHY IT MATTERS

Where budget leaks away

The most common leak is targeting too broadly. Without exclusive search terms, you pay for people who search 'free' or 'do it yourself'.

The second is measuring clicks instead of requests. Cheap clicks that yield nothing are more expensive than expensive clicks that convert.

  • Exclusive search terms — prevents paying for 'free' and 'vacancy'.
  • Measure requests, not clicks — a click is not a customer.
  • Separate landing page — lowers your click price and increases conversion.
  • Start small — test with a limited budget per search term.
  • Stop is stop — the traffic disappears the same day.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

More about Google Ads

Do you do Google Ads?

No. We build the landing pages on which advertisements arrive, and that demonstrably lowers your click price. We refer you to the campaign management itself: it is daily work and a separate profession.

What does a click cost?

This varies greatly per sector: from a few tens of cents to several euros. More meaningful than the click price is what an application costs you, and you only know that after a few weeks of measuring.

Will advertising help my unpaid positions?

No. That is a persistent misunderstanding. However, it does provide data about which search terms yield customers, and that knowledge is valuable for your SEO choices.
