llms.txt is a text file at the root of your website that provides a concise, machine-readable summary of what you offer and where the most important pages are located. It is intended for AI assistants that process your site. Unlike robots.txt, it is not an official standard and is not an access rule.

What it is and isn't
It is a summary, not an agreement. robots.txt determines who can crawl; llms.txt determines nothing and only provides context to those who are already reading.
There is also no guarantee that an AI system will use it. It is a proposal that is under development and which providers deal with differently.
Why we keep it anyway: the costs are virtually zero and it forces something useful. You have to write down in a few lines what you do, what it costs and where it is located: and if that is difficult, it says more about your site than about the file.

What we have available
A brief description of what we do, the services with address, current prices, the knowledge base and how you can reach us. Plus a note that prices are indicative and where the current ones are.
It is important that it matches the rest of the site. A summary that mentions different prices than your rates page is more damaging than no summary.
- Short and factual — a summary, not a sales text.
- Addresses of core pages — so that the source can be checked.
- Prices that match — contradictions make you unreliable.
- Update on changes — an outdated file is worse than no file.
- Not a replacement for robots.txt — access rules are there and nowhere else.

Should I have this?
No. It is not a standard and not a ranking signal. It's low effort and can help with mentions in AI responses, so we'll do it: but those who don't have it aren't missing anything demonstrable.
What is the difference with robots.txt?
robots.txt tells you who can and cannot crawl your site; that's an access rule that crawlers respect. llms.txt only says what your site is about. Access policies belong in robots.txt and nowhere else.
Does it really work?
There is no hard evidence for this yet, and we would rather say that than present it as a breakthrough. We monitor monthly whether we are mentioned in AI responses, and that is the only fair measurement for the time being.
