Website rent or buy?

We only sell the purchased variant, so read this with that knowledge. You can check the calculation yourself.

When renting, you pay a low monthly amount without purchase costs, but the site remains the property of the builder and stopping usually means starting over. When you buy, you pay more once and keep the site, the code and your positions. In three years, renting is usually more expensive; it is cheaper under twelve months.

WHEN WHAT

When renting is wise after all

Renting has real benefits and it would be unfair to leave them out. For a temporary campaign, for a company that has yet to appear to exist, or when you simply have no room for investment at the moment, a low monthly amount is the sensible choice.

Where things go wrong is the combination of a long contract term and no ownership. Always calculate the total over the contract duration and ask what happens if you stop.

  • Rent for a temporary campaign — a site that may disappear after a year.
  • Renting with an idea that has yet to be proven — not a big investment in something uncertain.
  • Renting without investment space — there is no such thing as a half-purchased site.
  • Please pay attention to the contract duration — and on what remains when you stop.
  • Buy from a lasting company — cheaper in three years.
  • Buy as you build positions — you don't want to lose that when you cancel.
  • Buy if you want to be able to change — take your code to another party.
  • Buy for custom development requirements — rental models work with templates.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

More about renting and buying

What will a rental site cost in three years?

Do the math: monthly amount multiplied by 36. With the common models in this market, this exceeds a purchased site including hosting and maintenance, and you will have nothing left at the end. With a short duration it turns out the other way.

What happens to my Google rankings if I stop renting?

The site goes offline and your positions disappear. Starting over at a new address takes months. This is the part that is rarely discussed during closing and is the most expensive afterwards.

Do you also offer a rental model?

No. It clashes with what we sell: a site that is yours. If you really want to spread the property, a payment arrangement can be negotiated - the property will remain with you.

Can I buy a rented site?

Sometimes, for a lump sum. Ask before you sign, not after: at that point you no longer have any negotiating power.
